This West Pennant Hills project included landscaping design and installation for both the front and back yards of the home. Scott and the Bluetongue Landscaping team worked with the property owners in determining the personalized features to create the overall appearance and function of the yard. The work was coordinated from start-to-finish and included everything needed for a safe, luxurious residential yard.
Landscaping and Concrete Features
The concrete features and tiered retaining walls are the highlight features of this landscape design. The sloping ground required excavation first to clear the way for stairs, walls, a patio, and fencing. A concrete driveway was laid, as well as stairs to provide an easy walking path up the sloped angle of the drive. These entry steps were designed for accessibility and are designed with luxury aesthetics and materials, including double tread for safety.
A combination of straight and curved interlocking retaining walls add both style and function to the front and back of the home. The beds are planted with greenery and trees, designed for the perfect balance of growth in the future.
A portion of the back yard was designed with stylish stepping stones placed as a walking path on the side of the turf. The stones are coordinated with the colour theme of the concrete and other materials, such as the concrete patio and retaining wall in that area of the yard.
Finishing Touches
Before the placement of plants and turf, both yards were fitted with an automated irrigation system. Turf placement added the extra touch to provide a stunning, comfortable yard area for hosting, games and family activities.
Additionally, the placement of a Colourbond fence with unique wooden posts provides both privacy and style. The fence was designed to coordinate with the retaining wall to match the property lines.
